Marko Hrgetic took a brand-new Queen 2 to Valle de Bravo in Mexico, to fly it in the 2018 Monarca Open. After 6 good tasks in a variety of conditions he ended up in 4th place Overall, smack in the middle of all the 2-liner hotships, and with very many of them behind him. We asked him what he thought of the new Triple Seven wing, in particular when flown in the rough-and-ready conditions of Valle:
„The Queen 2 is exceptionally stable on speed bar and I could easily fly on full speed even in strongest condition without releasing the bar. With BC system it was my advantage on the transitions. Another great thing is the energy retention after hitting a bubble or a thermal on the bar, the glider does not pitch so each lift you can use to your advantage.
With an amazing handling and 6.3 A.R. in small and punchy thermals, I was out-climbing other pilots. It can turn much tighter than most of the gliders.
– You have placed first in the serial class of the competition, where was the edge of the wing and your flying that made you reach this place?
Stable glider and fast top speed was a reason why I could keep up with the gliders from upper categories and at the end winning the Serial (Marko placed ahead of ALL the 2-liner EN D wings in the comp – on this EN C 3-liner…And before you brush it off with a „all the good pilots were in Rolda“ we suggest you go and check out the pilot list – some pretty strong names in there!)
